About the event
Cultivating Compassion (for Self and Others) Through Mindfulness and Journaling
It can be hard to understand and even have conversations with people who think differently than we do. Sometimes, too, our most challenging relationship can be the one we have with ourselves.
One of the things that can allow us to walk through the world with more equanimity is cultivating a sense of compassion, for ourselves, and for others. Holding compassion in our hearts can create a doorway to more thoughtful communication and connection.
Numerous studies have shown that mindful meditation and speech, as well as expressive writing, can have physiological and emotional benefits that can enhance wellbeing and reduce stress. These practices can also benefit those around us; when we are more open and relaxed, we can have a positive ripple effect on those around us.
