The Invitation

In early 1986, Daniel Chesbro received guidance saying simply, “It is time to call the Priests.” With that statement and through subsequent dreams, Dan was guided to start the Order of Melchizedek.

With this revelation came the knowledge that he is never to ask anyone to become a Priest, nor is he to turn anyone away. Through his birth path (8/22/44) and his previous lifetime experiences, Dan was being prepared to perform these “energy transfers” for ordination into the Order.

After receiving guidance regarding the actual ceremony, Dan ordained the first two priests, a man and a woman, on Easter Sunday, March 22, 1986. Since then, over 16,000 people, from diverse backgrounds, have chosen this path.

The Order

The Order of Melchizedek is a priesthood of individuals committed to teach and/or heal the Human Condition as it emerges into the Age of Aquarius. The order has come into physical form now because of the Earth transformation that is taking place. It last came into being in preparation for the coming of Christ.

This is not the only Melchizedek Order that has emerged; several groups have simultaneously begun, totally independent and many times unaware of each others' existence. This Order does not say that their way is the only way. There are many paths to God, but the basis of all true spiritual work is Love, Unconditional Love, and we all come from that Source.

The Order of Melchizedek does not discriminate; thus, everyone is welcomed. The Order is not a religion, but a service order. Each Priest is legally ordained under the “Sanctuary of the Beloved,” an incorporated, non-denominational church in New York State and in the United States.

The Priesthood

Priests are self-selected and their ultimate commitment is between God and themselves, to share in their own ways. Each person who is moved to make this step has been prepared through lifetimes and was born already having made the decision to become a Priest. Everyone is welcome.

In taking this step, a person commits him/herself to teach and to heal. That doesn’t mean to quit a job and get a church. It means to be available to those who come into their lives, to teach “love,” and to help people draw from their highest, most loving selves when making decisions in their lives. Also, Priests help others realize they can open themselves up to God’s healing energy, which can flow through each one of us. Each Priest is encouraged to go within for guidance for their own work.

Priests are not required to “give up” anything they believe in or to resign from any other organizations. They are simply given an “energy boost” to enhance the work they are already doing. There is no doctrine they must follow. There is no dogma, no hierarchy. (And no vows of celibacy or poverty!)

 A Brief History of Melchizedek

Melchizedek is a historical figure in the Old Testament of the Bible and is said to be the original Priest. All Priest / Priestess traditions are descendants of his teachings and writings. Melchizedek is said to have written the Book of Job in the Old Testament and many other teachings on the principle of "The Law of One." The "School of the Prophets," the Essene Order, and the Great White Brotherhood are a result of Melchizedek’s works. Melchizedek is beloved by many faiths as a great teacher and prophet.

Of the many incarnations that “The Christ” assumed in order to serve the human condition, one is Melchizedek, a totally balanced being — as a Priest and as a King — and spiritually androgynous. Being more “spirit” than “physical”, he/she appeared on the Earth without a birth experience. Upon completing his physical work, through true spontaneous combustion, s/he left the earth plane.

PRIESTS IN THIS ORDER ARE THE DIRECT INHERITORS OF THIS SPIRITUAL HISTORY.
