Myofascial Release Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
Myofascial release therapy is based on the idea that illness/inflammation, physical injury/trauma, poor posture, and emotional stress can cause the body to go out of alignment. It can then cause its intricate web of fascia (or connective tissues in the body that surrounds all of our nerves, blood vessels, muscles, bones, and organs of the body) to become taut, contracted, and distorted. Because fascia surrounds all the critical anatomy within us, the skillful and dexterous use of the hands can free up, or "release" disruptions in this fascial network. This can help facilitate the fascia to return back to its original healthy position and state. Pressure on the nerves, blood vessels, muscles, joints, and even organs is relieved in the process, and balance is restored which results in the opportunity for the alleviation of pain and dysfunction. This process helps to promote the body's innate ability to heal itself.
My name is Vijiya Rathod, and I am a certified physical therapist. I'm so excited to be able to share information about this very effective therapeutic option as well as offer an opportunity to get some training with self myofascial release techniques, and an opportunity to sign-up for an individualized session if you so choose to explore this further!
Please bring a yogamat (if you have one) and a bottle of water for the portion of the workshop where we explore self- myofascial release techniques.

"Vijiya Singh Rathod has been treating me for a couple of months now, and the results are SIGNIFICANTLY better than plain physical therapy. I strongly recommend attendance. And, if you are local to Howard County where she treats me, Vijiya has open spots for new patients. I can't recommend her enough!"
